August 22, 2010

UPCOMING EVENTS:
28 - 30 Aug - Parker Pot & Apothecary trophy (cruiser)
28 & 29 Aug - Bank Holiday Series (dinghies - see Club notice board)

The full 2010 Cruiser and Dinghy racing calendar and social programme is now available. NQYC 2010 Racing Programme.

Tresaith Mariners' 2010 Regatta is scheduled for 7th & 8th August. NQYC boats are invited to participate (cruisers and dinghies welcome). High water is early on the 7th and, if there are enough boats sailing down, a race to Tresaith (from New Quay) could also be part of the event. Cardigan boats are expected to sail up so there should be a decent fleet. On the same weekend, Tresaith Mariners are also playing host to the Merlin Rocket Virgin Cup. For more information see Tresaith Mariners or contact Fraser (Tresaith Commodore). Throughout both days there will be a bar on the beach with a marquee and live bands playing in the evening (this is a very popular event!)

Dates for the 2010 Cardigan Bay Regatta have been confirmed as Monday 16th to Wednesday 18th August. The Main Day, which includes swimming races, crabbing competitions and sandcastle building, will be held on Tuesday 17th. Dinghy and cruiser racing is held on all three days.

Frostbite 2010: Frostbite racing for 2010 has now concluded - for a full report see FROSTBITE 2010 REPORT.

FROSTBITE DINGHY SERIES 2010: The Frostbite began six years ago when a few hardy sailors decided to take on the challenge of winter sailing in New Quay. Since then the sailing series has grown in strength every year and now regularly has a turn out of ten or more dinghies. The 2009 series has just concluded, for a full report see Frostbite.
